Resolution Thanking the Faculty and Staff for Their Tireless Efforts During the Pandemic
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Area Exempt Staff Council
Representing the University of Tennessee Knoxville Campus, Institute of Agriculture, Institute for Public Service, and University Administration
WHEREAS at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic when very little was known about the diseases, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Area (UT), faculty and staff worked relentlessly to establish safety plans that set out how to best continue delivering services in a manner that was safe for the faculty, staff, and those being served, and then executed those plans;
WHEREAS many of those plans, in some iteration, have now been in place for over 18 months;
WHEREAS faculty and staff continue to be BOLD, INNOVATIVE, and IMPACTFUL in their efforts to make the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Area campus and Institutes safe; and
WHEREAS the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Area Exempt Staff Council feels that it is important to publicly thank all the faculty and staff who have actively engaged in efforts to keep all of us safe;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Area Exempt Staff Council expresses our sincere gratitude to all of the faculty and staff that spent countless hours ensuring that the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus, the University of Tennessee Institute for Agriculture, the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service, and the University Administration continued to operate and provide exemplary and safe services from the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic until today. We also want to especially recognize and thank the staff of the Emergency Operation Center for their continuing efforts to keep the spaces in which we work, the students live and learn, and visitors enjoy, accessible and safe.
